Beloved ones, in the world you will have tribulations, yet be encouraged because I overcame and paved the way for you to overcome. Overcome all evil with good, for I AM Good. Overcome trials and tribulations through rejoicing that everything is working together for your good according to My will and purpose for you. Overcome pressures through praying without interruption and continually. Overcome the negativity of all that comes against you by expressing your gratefulness and gratitude for My goodness and will in your life. Rejoicing, prayer and thankfulness is My will for you beloved one. You shall overcome.

1 Thess 5:16-18 NKJV

Hi Sandy,

This verse was highly quickened to my husband today.  He said that it hit him that this is GOD’S WILL for us.  This heart of thankfulness in everything.

There is this story of ‘what’s in your cup?’ that stood out to me as well today.  Do you know it?  I’ll post it below.  It is good for me to focus on expecting God’s grace for myself and my family, that God’s will for us is to spill thankfulness for EVERYTHING.  Just a freeing and amazing thought today!

1 Thess 5:16-18 NKJV

Here is the story.

You are holding a cup of coffee when someone comes along and accidentally bumps you and shakes your arm, making you spill coffee everywhere.

Why did you spill the coffee?

Because someone bumped into you, right?

Wrong answer.

You spilled the coffee because coffee was in the cup.

If tea had been in it, you would have spilled tea.

Whatever is inside the cup is what will come out.

Therefore, when life comes along and shakes you,

whatever is inside of you will come out.

So each of us has to ask ourselves..... what's in my cup?

When life gets bumpy, what spills over?

Joy, gratefulness, peace, and humility?

Or anger, bitterness, harsh words, and reactions?

We choose what's in our cup!

Today, let's work towards filling our cups with gratitude, forgiveness, joy, words of affirmation to ourselves and others, kindness, gentleness, and love! **

Wow Liana @Registered Member, that is a really impactful story about what is inside of us and thus what we pour out!  I wont forget this one, thank you so much for sharing.  I am copying it for my journal.

I was sharing this a few weeks ago what Bob Jones used to say about the spirit of prophesy.  When it is present, it shakes people's pepsi cans (their spirit/ soul) and what is buried, imploded, or hidden inside comes bubbling up and out.  He said that where the prophets gather, the spirit of prophesy is and it will cause people to spill over and bring out what they have buried inside.

He does this to remove the dross and separate what doesnt belong there, and to let the rest remain.

Hebrews 12:27 And this word, Yet once more, signifies the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.
